Andrew Loh
Director
Andrew is a chartered UK and Singapore patent attorney with over seven years’ of experience. He has a BSc with first class honours and a PhD in Human Genetics, both from University College London. His doctoral research was on the study of human genetic polymorphisms and their influence on mRNA expression levels and disease susceptibility. Following his PhD, Andrew undertook postdoctoral research at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he used cell and molecular biology techniques to investigate the regulation of cell morphology and motility.
Prior to joining Sterling IP Andrew worked for several years in the patent department of one of Singapore’s major intellectual property law firms where he advised clients on the specificities of patent practice and filing strategy in Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, and other Southeast Asian countries. Andrew also drafted and prosecuted a wide range of patent applications predominantly in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology and medicine and was a key member of the team which provided freedom to operate validity opinions and pattern litigation support to a large multinational company.
